He Could Take A Tempting

I like the fact that after having visions, barely surviving in the desert for 40 days, He was STILL ABLE TO RESIST ALL THAT SATAN OFFERED HIM.  God stuff.

Bending Of Will

This is a bit of paraphrased prayer credited to St. Theresa:

"Lord let my will more and more closely approximate YOURS."

Think about it----it is a Good one.

This is a Prayer, but Jesus alegedly did not write it

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.

Where there is hatred, let me sow love.

Where there is injury, pardon.

Where there is doubt, faith.

Where there is despair, hope.

Where there is darkness, light.

Where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,

grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console;

to be understood, as to understand;

to be loved, as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive.

It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,

and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.

Amen.

Alien AND man

He was/is an alien.

This is pretty obvious when you look at much of what He did.  There are various groups that believe this as dogma.

It is really NOT THAT WEIRD of an IDEA, and I FEEL even a pious Catholic could say, and believe with NO HANGUPS  that He came here especially from somewhere/one/when ELSE!

His Generosity

I am not talking miracles here people, not the loaves and fishes stuff......no, I just mean that in general, in all accounts of Christ He is always described as or comes across as, a very generous individual, who would likely give you the shirt off his back if you needed it and you asked Him for it.  There is no place in the Gospels or any other books in the Bible, or in the Gnostic writings where Jesus is some stingy bastard!  Never!

The Sermon On The Mount

the entire thing---The Sermon On the Mount is very strong MEDICINE for what still ails all of what is loosely called humanity.

Jesus was not afraid to get ANGRY and SHOW IT.

THE SCENE IN THE TEMPLE WHEN HE GIVE HELL TO THE MONEYCHANGERS IS MY FAVORITE IN the New Testament.

That is the Christ I love.
